What is a surprise is that they consider it America at all. It is pretty tough to find an American in the city. Next to Miami, New York is the city that I find most foreign.

Seems like everybody you meet in the big apple is either a tourist, or from some other country. Take a cab, talk to a waiter, try to communicate with anybody at the hotel who is not at the front desk. Walk into a kitchen, or just stand in the middle of times square with a badge and yell immigration. The only thing left standing will be a few tourists from Nebraska, and some flashing lights.

My mom is from New York, and she always says that it has the nicest people any where. Sorry mom, you moved out 60 years ago, things have changed.

Travel & Leisure has named New York the rudest City in America AGAIN.

You want further proof, just go to the super Bowl in Indianapolis, and listen to the shenanigans of these hooligans. They travel rude too.

Go Patriots!

I had to ask the question.

What is Plymouth Rock Studios? I keep hearing that some movie studio is coming to Plymouth and will be the next best thing, since the Mayflower landed, The nuke plant went on-line, and they built Pinehills.

All I hear is that this will be the saving grace of the south shore. All the houses on Warren Ave will be selling for millions, and that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be shopping at Buttners.

What is it and what the Hell is happening. I cannot wait.

Here is what I know. It sounds like a good idea and a pipe dream. Nothing is on the horizon, but the idea is a great one. They have a website, and CEO’s and COO”s and marketing and planning people. I would like one of these jobs. It would be like working for the state. No one knows what you do, but you get paid a lot, and nothing happens.

Check out their website:

Plymouth Rock Studios

Here is what they have to say:

Plymouth Rock Studios Holdings, LLC is proposing a state-of-the-art, earth friendly, film and television studio campus, projected to break ground in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 2010. The opportunity identified by the Company comprises an investment in a mixed use real estate development and provision of ancillary services, tours, special events and other revenues streams associated with the operation of a full service film, television and commercial digital studio.

I am always looking for a new summer drink. Drinking seems to pick up this time of year. You cannot hang around a boat and not have a beverage.
I found the Best Summer Drink Ever.

Sweet Tea Vodka and spring water.

I am no huge fan flavored vodka’s, so I was reluctant to try it. I am not even a huge fan of iced tea.

BUT< this damn stuff is the best tasting drink I have ever had.

It is so simple to make.

fill the glass with ice

50% firefly Sweet Tea

50% spring water

Lemon slice

option

diet lemonade instead of the water. Makes it like an Arnold Palmer err John Daly

22 calories

no sugar

no calories

Make it by the pitcher

What could be better than this?

Careful, you can consume too much, because it tastes so good and does not taste like booze.

Enjoy

This is a great question. Of course you should. If you got it, you cannot take it with you can you.

Who you going to leave it to? the church? no way( They would just buy more stained glass). Your alma mater? no way they get enough now in tuition and who cares if the cafeteria is named after you when you are dead.

Why not leave it to a friend. People that have been nice to you and close to you and cared for you.

If you leave it to the family, they are just going to squander it. They have already been squandering your money for years.

I ask my friend Frank all the time, if I am in the will, and he now says no, he is taking it with him or leaving it to a pet.

So I have no option to start being mean to Frank. Why be his friend, if I am not going to get any of his millions. If I have to waste my time being nice to somebody at the gym, maybe it should be that cute girl in the hat.

Frank there is still time to cut me in……

Getting old sucks!
Your bones hurt, your skin slides and hair grows in strange places.

BUT!!! it is all not that bad.

Some stores and restaurants love us old people.

Take Dunkin Donuts. Since I turned 55, I get a 10% discount. I was pissed when my medium” hot” cream no sugar coffee went to $1.99 at my local Dunkin Donuts. The window person ( old people are too sore or tired to walk in, actually most just drive through the window) gave me my receipt and my penny back. What do I do??? I am a notorious big tipper. Do I dig for some change, or embarrass myself and say no ” keep the change”?
Instead, I proudly say ” senior citizen” discount please. I get the 10 % off 39 cents, and the window person gets a nice tip. A “win-win” for everyone.

Here are some other discounts for seniors. ENJOY, and do not be embarrassed to be old. They want your business, that is why they do it.

Since many senior discounts are not advertised to the public, our advice to men and women over 50 is to ALWAYS ask a sales associate if that store provides a senior discount.

After years of buying every product on the market to clean the boat, I have decided that there is just 3 must haves to keep your boat in ship shape.

The Magic eraser- the magic eraser is the number 1 best product to clean the boat. It is cheap and it looks silly, It is nothing really but a piece of white foam, but it works incredibly. Try bleach products and soaps on a canvas, or seat cover, or the gel coat, when you think it is clean, go over it with the magic eraser and you will find that itpicks up more dirt. Just use this for everything and the boat will sparkle.

WD-40- they say it works on anything. They are right, just spray it on any metal parts of your boat and wipe it off and the metal sparkles. Kinda like when you put armorall on your car dash. It takes the oxidation off the metal and it is cheap to use. Also try car tire black for that black bumper rail that goes around the gunwale.

Shammy cloth- The real one, not that sham wow crap. Get the one in the clear plastic case at the marine store, or auto parts store. It will last for years. When you are done washing the boat, or after it rains, take the shammy and wipe it all down. The difference is amazing. Marine stores it is $29, at Walmart it is $9.00 for the same thing.

Some of my other favorite products are, 3M cleaner wax, tuff nuff in the spray bottle, a little bleach in your water and car soap with wax.

I hope these cost savings tips help. I am still searching for the best way to remove rust spots from white vinyl seats. Do you have any suggestions, other than soft scrub with bleach and the eraser.

The mailbag is full again. The thirst for my wisdom is overwhelming. people just need to know the answers to life.

Today, I am going to tackle some of the medical questions I get all the time.

Monty

I have been diagnosed with diabetes, I am frightened what do I do?

signed

shipwrecked @ Tern

Dear shipwrecked:

Have a doughnut! have a dozen doughnuts. You were happy before you got diabetes right? How did you get it? by eating too much and getting fat. So why stop now. load up on the sugars and carbs. Remember, you were happy when you were fat.

Dear Monty:

I have TB and Lime disease. What do i do? Where do i go from here?

Signed,

stuck @ the 19th hole

Dear overtime golfer:

Alright, TB! not what you think. The doctor meant TB “TWO BELLIES”

You are just fat. Too many dinners out and too much time at the 19th hole.

watch for ticks

You need to go from the cart after 18, and head home.

As far as the lime disease, try a cherry in your Captain and coke. It works for me. If that does not work, stay out of the woods. Hit a seven wood off the tee instead of the driver. The woods are full of long hitters and ticks. Heeellooo! You get lime disease from ticks.

Dear Monty

I am fair skinned and i get burned all the time. If I step outside, I burn. If I stay under a lamp too long i burn. I put bottles and bottles of sun screen on and I still burn. I do not have a friend left that will rub it on my back. What do i do?

Signed

Burned in the Birches

Dear RED!

I think the answer is to become a Muslim. Get one of those attractive smocks that wrap around your whole body and cover your face. No sun will ever get through.

Dear Monty

I have a red face. Everyone thinks i drink alot, but honestly I do not. What do you suggest?

signed

The red faced Killer

Weymouth ma

Dear rouge murderer

You have a level three case of red face. It is caused by One of two things. One, you drink too much, or two you are Irish ( if you are Irish see #1, I promise you have both in this case)

I did some research, and whereas, you have a Irish last name, You were adopted and YOU are really Egyptian, so cut back on the wine and the beer with the lime.

Monty

Keep those cards and letters coming!

I went 49 years 10 months and 11 days before my first spa treatment.

Oh No not me! I am not a fag. I would not be caught dead in a spa. Spa’s were for woman, queers( editorial remark) (“Fags and Queers” prefer to be called gay) and pervs.( I will probably hear from the association of perverts next)

Was I ever wrong. Pat Murry had a vision and started the Black Tie Spa in Norwell just for men. He had to turn people like me into believers. I believe. I am hooked.

No more long lines at the barber. no more haircuts with two options: boys regular or crew cut!

I also tried the womans hair salon thing !that was a bust! you made an appt. for say 5:00 and you were made to wait in the waiting area for 45 minutes while some blue hair had her few remaining strands foiled. The worst part was that the magazines were like redbook, glamour or people. that crap is not worth reading.

why go to the black tie?

People are awesome

It is comfortable ( Big leather chairs and a HD big screen)

No waiting ( even if you waited, it would not suck)

great value (Less expensive than you would think)

Go for a haircut and a massage and tell them Monty sent you. Say hi to Tammy, Allie, Vivian,Jenna, Ginny, Sharon & Katie

.

.
