Bobby Byrne’s Pub Hyannis Ma Review

You know how much I like to eat. There are two things in life I cannot tolerate. One is bad food and bad service. The second is not being nice to my kids. My son had a very bad experience at The Bobby Byrnes Pub in Hyannis. I have asked him to write and share his experience for everyone to read. Craig writes:I went out for dinner at Bobby Burns Tavern down the street from the condo last week. It was one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The wait staff was not courteous and very rude. They did not treat me with the respect a normal restaurant would show you. The food was disgusting and had a hard time eating it. Dirty is not a word I would use to describe the place it was absolutely filthy. I wanted to get up and leave several times but I figured it couldn’t get any worse, unfortunately it did.

When I first got to the restaurant I respected the “Please wait to be seated”, that was a mistake. It took about ten minutes for the hostess to come and seat me. The bartender was not very friendly either; he acted like he was busy when there weren’t more than four people at the bar. I just wanted to play some Keno and get a beer but that seemed a little difficult for this guy. While I was waiting to play my numbers they came out. The bartender had just lost me a hundred and fifty dollars, I was furious. Eventually I sat down and waited for the waitress which took another ten minutes. She was the least friendly person in the whole place, I thought she might be having a bad day but probe not. She didn’t even clean my table off and when I got my food she tossed it at me. The food at Bobby Burns is a whole different story.

The food at Bobby Burns is terrible and honestly not very edible. It took so long to finally get my food I thought Id be so hungry that I wouldn’t care what I ate. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders and a pizza, I figured it would be hard to screw that up but I was wrong again. There were only three chicken tenders and a couple celery sticks, it was not very filling. The tenders were all brown and burnt; it looked like they had been cooking since I’d been there. I started to get worried about how the pizza was going to be. Finally the waitress brought my pizza over and threw it on the table. It was the ugliest pizza I had ever seen. It was half cooked on the inside and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The pizza was inedible; I could have made something better at my house. If the food and the help wasn’t bad enough the restaurant was filthy.

I was appalled at the up keep of Bobby Burns, the place was filthy. It started when I sat down and there was food and plates all over my table. The waitress didn’t even bother to clean it off. After servicing my own table and flicking the old French fries on the ground I figured I’d get a beer. It decided it was a bad idea after I looked at the glass, it was filthy. The glass still had grease on it and I could swear I could see the lip marks of the person who last used it. I began to wonder about the plates they were using and if they just pushed the food off and reused it. This place was gross but the funny thing was the bathrooms weren’t bad.

If you are ever starving and looking for somewhere to eat please don’t go to Bobby Burn’s in Hyannis. The people who work there are not your typical staff, they are all unfriendly and very unprofessional. The buffalo tenders were terrible and I didn’t even attempt to eat their pizza. My glass being filthy was just unacceptable, that place is far from clean. I just hope you never make the mistake and go eat there.

Monty writes:

You can bet that I will never eat there , and I hope anybody that reads this will not either. To screw a poor college kid out of what might be his one trip a month

out of a decent meal is unacceptable.

By the way, I have eaten there before and it was not good for me either.

Stay away from Bobby Byrne’s Pub In Hyannis.

Town Sq Diner Norwood

You know how much I like diner’s and comfort food.

I was out with Dale today and we were looking for a lunch spot. We went by the usuals. greek pizza places, the 99, d’angelo’s, big mac’s….And then i saw it. over the horizon The Town Sq Diner. I swerved and pulled into the municipal parking lot and made a beeline for what appeared to be a hotspot.

1.jpg 2051528646_3c76415b95.jpg shepie.jpg rings.jpg tuna.jpg

Just what I was looking for, stools, a newspaper rack, old timers hanging out, and a few fat guys. You know a place is good if they have fat guys there.

I was not disappointed. The menu featured specials and of course 24 hour eggs. They featured a fish seafood, but I was told it was off the menu do to the warm weather.

One of the days specials was Shepard’s pie. I saw two old broads eating it and it looked good, so I gave it a go. it was super and only $3.99. It came with a roll and butter, and I also got a side of onion rings. The rings were OK. I like them wafer thin one’s with the batter that flakes off. Dale had the fries which were very crisp and nicely done. I stole a few. You know my first rule in life??? “never reach over and just take another man’s fries off his plate without asking” That is a cardinal rule and a mortal sin in my religion ( fat guy church)

Anyway Dale had the tuna that was suggested by our waitress Candy. Candy was as sweet as her name might suggest. She was very attentive and hopefully she reads the blog.

candy.jpg

Just a thought, who names their kid Candy? Do you think that is a nickname like Monty? The only other candies I have ever met were strippers. That is one of those names like summer, Mercedes, bambi, crystal and Tiffiny.

Anyway when you are in Norwood, the only place to stop 24/7 is the Town SQ Diner

weymou1.jpg

I finally had a chance to go to a new restaurant in Weymouth. This just confirms my suspician that there is not a decent restaurant in Weymouth.

First off, i do not like Margarita’s, so i am fucked right off the bat. I asked for a expresso martini, and the bartender pulled out the book and came up with something God awful. next I had the old standby a Captain and coke. That was watered down and sucked too.

We were there to see off my friend Jon lewis who is moving out west. What would be more fitting than to take him to a Mexican place. He needs to get used to Beeners and beener food real quick. When he gets to mexico, or I mean California, that is all he is going to see.

I did not eat, so how can you do a restaurant review? Good question!

I just looked at that pile of refried crap that they were putting on those plates and that was enough to turn my stomach. What is with people? How in the world can they eat those jimmy chungas, and those Kay Sidia’s or worse a Fucking Burrito filled with baby poop. You cannot like it. No way! It has got to be a fad? I do not even think mexicans eat that garbage.

When you go into a chinese restaurant, you see Chinese people, when you go into a italian restaurant you see italians, hwn you go into an Indian restaurant, you see Indians, When you go into a bar, you see DRUNK IRISH people, BUT you never see a Mexican eating a chmney cha cha or whatever they are. The Mexicans scream over the border, jumping fences, or swimming across rivers, or lying in the trunk of a car and the first thing they do is get a friggin pizza. So why do we do it.

JUST stupid i guess.

DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!

Eating is a big part of my world

I have not written much lately, and certainly not any restaurant reviews. Here are a few places I have eaten lately with some quick comments:

Stars in Hingham:

I think this is way overrated, I do not like the food. The service is sketchy at best. Even the waitresses have that snobby Hingham attitude. There is almost no parking. The last time there Lisa had the worst hash EVER, and Mrs Monty had food poisoning and missed the Guess Who concert. My opinion, but the skippa loves the place ( go figure)

Umbria:

I could not find a place without a 2 hour wait the other night in Boston, so I went off the beaten track and went to Umbria. Now I know why there was no wait.

That place sucked. The hostess was a BITCH, she made us wait until she was sure there were no VIP”s showing up, while she had plenty of seating. The Manager was an uppity piece of shit too.

Not only that all the people in the place had their head up their ass. What a shitty atmosphere.

We decided to eat at the bar. Why? because the ” flaming Gay” bartender was the nicest person in the place. ( is it me, or are gay guys some of the nicest people you meet?)

Anyway, we had little choice of food. The portions looked small and the food looked like shit, BUT we were hungry. I wanted to have the rib eye steak, BUT I was not going to pay $50.00 for a steak in that place. What I had sucked and what everyone else had sucked.

DO NOT GO THERE! EVER!!!

Roasted Pig :

In the posh North End section of New Bedford. Good food with a portuguese flair. very nice with good service and table cloths: I had the short ribs, but could not get my eyes off of the suckling pig garnished with homemade chips on the plate of the guy next to me. Try the place .

Denly’s in Weymouth:denlyssmall.jpg

I spend a lot of time in Weymouth lately. Do you know that for one of the largest cities in Mass, that Weymouth does not have one good restaurant. Think about that? You cannot think about a city that does not have a signature restaurant. Weymouth is void of a decent place to eat. makes ya think. Anyway denly’s is the same as it was 45 years ago. The same booths and derilects are still there. The pizza is great, the service is good and you can dress like the biggest slob and no one will notice. I highly recommend a visit. It personifies ” the hole in the wall”

East Bay Grille in Plymouth:

Ok eats, right on the harbor. Not very expensive, and someplace you would want on your list for someplace different. The weekends are hopping on the patio with a band. The place is also crawling with cougars.

That is enough for now. I will have some more thumbnails later. I am having dinner at margeritavilles in Weymouth tonight. another unforgettable Weymouth Bistro.

Sometimes it takes a few tries till you get it right. That old historic white house on the Hingham/Norwell line, seems to have gotten it right this time.

It was the Whitton house and then Ciro’s, and then the Black fin. They all had their run and they all failed. it is a can’t miss location and right now, the parking lot is full and it is not missing.

This too, may have its run and die down like so many others, but right now it is a hit with the locals.

The formula that seems to have worked this time around is that they have made the bar twice as big and they have made it a comfortable hangout for the local Yuppies who have money to burn. Who doesn’t like eating at the bar?

I might suggest that they change the name to the ” Cougar Club” It has been a hangout for the forty something, still kinda hot chick, looking for Mr Right with a fat wallet, and a nice car kinda place.

cougars.jpg

The food is good, they have two menus, one a full restaurant menu and one o a pub menu. I have only ate in the restaurant once, so forgive me for not being too detailed. I have however ate just about everything at the bar and it is all good. My favorite is the twin clam rolls, and the chicken pot pie in the skillet.

The drinks are ok and fairly priced for the venue. They have some very nice bartenders and one particular at lunch ( I think his name is Paul) is excellent and super professional.

Give it a try! and Happy Cougar hunting!!!!

Ya Get What You Pay For!!!!

ncl_dream.jpg

This past weekend we went on a booze cruise to nowhere out of Boston. It was like $350 per person, which included your room and food. Not a bad price, but you get what you pay for.

The Boat (NCL Dream) is the one that goes out of Boston to Bermuda. I think they try to fill some space and grab a few bucks before it starts it weekly voyages.

I actually liked it better than the other 20 people that I cruised with. I kinda did not expect much.

Greg said ” it sucked, it sucked, and it really sucked”

Joanne said ( ehh)

Donnie liked the first day, he stayed up till 5:30 in the morning hooting and howlin, but he did not enjoy the second day. I wonder why??

Mike and lisa do not get away too often without the kids, so I wish it was better for them, but overall they were just happy to kick back and chill for 48 hours.

Why did Greg and others think it sucked?

Bad food, bad service, bad rooms, rough seas, and most of all it was hard to get a drink. When you did get a bartenders attention, they were either out of what you wanted, or they gave you what ever they had. They actually measured the pour and charged you like $7 bucks for a drink. Thank God i smuggled on the captain Morgan.

The waitstaff was untrained and unequipped to handle the number of people on the boat.

The casino was jammed and it was hard to find a table and forget about getting a drink in that place.

getting off the boat was another shitshow. Lines snaked around the halls and it took hours. We might have stayed in the rooms, but they shut the water off.

The biggggessst complaint I had was the bacon was raw and uneatable. You know how much this fat man loves his bacon. I still hold the record on the Royal Carribean for the most bacon consumed in a week long cruise, ( my picture is in the galley)

bacon.jpg ( this is how i like my bacon* crispy*)

All in all it was just OK I might think of a better way to spend a weekend with my buddies. I would not do it again in a hurry.

Bon Voyage

Cafe Christina- Pembroke Ma

In 2008  I wrote my review of  Cafe Christina. I had some harsh things to say, after a bad night there.

I got deluged with hate mail and positive reviews from loyal customers.

I must be wrong. Because everybody says I am. My best friends love the place. They go there every week.

So I went back, and realized that I just had a bad experience, and that they are a very good restaurant. Good food, good staff and good value.

It is still not my favorite, but that is why companies make 20 flavors of everything. After rereading my review, I think that I might have unfairly dissuaded some body from going there that might have loved it.

So go ahead and give it a try. You will love it like everyone else does.

What it does tell me, is that it is important to try to make every customer happy. One whine bag like me can affect lots of people.

I am recanting my last review.

I still like the old location better.

Cheesecake factory

cheesecakefactory1.jpg

I had lunch with Dale, Anne and kevin yesterday at the cheesecake factory. I went kicking and screaming. Lunch at the mall is not my thing, as is franchise restaurants.

What a surprise, after parking a mile away and waiting in line for 10 minutes we were seated in a booth. What came next was a surprise. Good food, and plenty of it.

We started with the deep fried mac & cheesecheeseball.jpg

and the sliders. Both were excellent. I had the fish and chips, and the others had the kobe burger, ceasar salad, and a bountiful turkey club. Everyone gave a nod and a burp after the meal, so I guess it was good.

Bring your appetite the portions are big, and you cannot leave the place without having a slice of cheesecake. That would be like going to Nathans and not having a hot dog, or going to Kelley’s and not having roast beef.

The service was good and professional, although the foreign waiter was pleasant but hard to understand ( I have been meaning to take a class in Bangladesh but have not got around to it).

The price was good. very good value.

I will go back. No drinks to report on this trip ( what a shock) I will save that for the next time. They serve ” well mannered dirty martini” that sounds good.

I give it 4 Monty stars out of 5

South Shore Chinese Restaurants

I love Chinese food, who doesn’t?
My love for Chinese food started in my youth, when my parents would take us to the Aloha in Hingham. If my memory serves me correctly, It used to called the Euroasia. I Have not been to them all, so if you have a favorite, please send them in on the comments section.

IMPERIAL GARDEN- Hanover Ma

This is my favorite hang. We actually call it Dave’s named after the owner Dave. A short guy with a big smile. All nice people. We went there with the kids and about 15 other people every Friday night for probably 10 years. We got away from that, but it was a lot of fun. If you go in, ask for Leo he is always nice and helpful.

Cathay hanover- they closed it GOOD it was awful.

China Plaza- Rockland better since it burned down and they rebuilt it.

Bejing House-Norwell, good clean, great lunch buffet. See Jay at the bar. A super nice guy.

Mings Dynasty-Marshfield, ok nothing special

Kowloon-Saugus, Ok if you want to eat with 3000 other people. I do not see what people like about it.

Chinatown Boston, be careful here. authentic does not mean good. If you know what you are doing fine otherwise stay suburban.

I will add more later.

A few random thoughts:

WHY DO JEWS LIKE CHINESE FOOD SO MUCH
WHY ARE THERE NO WINDOWS IN A CHINESE RESTAUANT
WHY CALL IT A POO POO PLATTER? POO POO MEANS CRAP RIGHT?
DO YOU THINK THEY DUMP THE TEA OUT THAT YOU DO NOT DRINK, OR PUT IT BACK IN THE BIG VAT?
HOW MANY WAITERS CAN YOU GET IN A VAN?

Coral Seafood Marlborough MA

Why am I in Marlborough. That is for another day. I was not going to do a review, but someday you might be stuck in marlborough.
I cannot help but think that this is a stupid name. I felt like this was supposed to be an upscale restaurant, that ran out of money and creativity. It is in a strip mall where you would find a sub shop, or a store 24. They have one of those tacky signs that is advertising the restaurant, and also looking for a ” skilled server’ mixed messages here.
After we sat at our square table that they graciously flipped up the sides to make it into a card table/dinner table, we met with our waitress and her trainee. We were offered plastic menus that resembled an applebees.
All in all the food was good. i had the broiled fish combo with a house salad. How can you screw that up, I am already miserable thinking that a giant rack of ribs is calling my name at firefly’s down the street.
Overall it was pretty unforgettable, but i had a nice dinner with some business friends. it was a good way to kick back after a day in class.

If you are in marlborough and want fish , by all means drop in. if you are on a diet, throw it out the window for the day and go to Fire flys down the street.

Texas Roadhouse

All i heard is that you have to go to the Texas Roadhouse. I was out and about the other night and decided to give it a try. It is in a mall in Brockton ( if you are NOT going to the Foxy Lady, then why would you go to a mall in Brockton?)
We went there at 9:30 at night, so we did not have to wait. But you can see that they have a huge waiting area, where you can line up with the rest of the low lifes and throw peanuts on the floor.

We were rushed to our seat. Remember the term RUSHED. I felt like we were in a nascar race. The place should be called Speedy’s Roadhouse. They sit you down and your waitstaff immediately asks for your drink and food order. i think you need ADHD to work there. They have a margherita menu and large cold beers. They give you a pail of peanuts ( not good for my diverticulitus).
When you come in, they show you the steaks in a display case they look TERRIFIC.
Ok we give them the drink order. they come in like 30 seconds and they go so what do you want? I said DUDE, cool your jets. He leaves and 2 minuites later, another waitress comes by and says, so what are you having. I say not yet. She leaves. Then i see the other guy coming back and he smiles and says ” so what can I get you tonight” I hold my acerbic tounge. because I want to say FUCK OFF. I say ” give us a minute please”
59 seconds later, the guy comes back ( At this time we may have been seated all of 5 minutes)
Ok so we order. I get one of those nice looking ribeyes in the case. I get two sides. I go for the chili and the sweet potato. The Steak was drowned in some kind of spice. like the kind that outback has. It was lousy not to mention completely under cooked. Of course how could it be cooked it was on the table like 3.8 minutes from the time the order went in. Oh ya we got the recommended onion blosssum before dinner for the table. that sucked it was burnt.
What did I like about the roadhouse besides leaving. I have to tell you this straight up, they have the best damn butter in the world. it has cinnimon or something in it. IT tastes awesome on the hot rolls and then I put it on the sweet potatoe. OMG!!!! That was the best ever.

We chewed and screwed out of there after leaving a short tip. The whole experience was done in 42 minutes. The wait, drinks, appetizers, meal, check etc 42 minutes. It takes longer than that to get a cup of coffe sometimes.

Never again.. I wonder if I can get that butter to go?

Guest critic on Worcester restaurants.

u·biq·ui·tous adjective existing or being everywhere, esp. at the same time; omnipresent: ubiquitous fog; ubiquitous little ants. ubiquitous blogger. Like dogshit, it seems be everywhere ( ubiquitous )

I know I seem like I am everywhere all the time, but I cannot be. Especially now that I am in weight watchers. I cannot be at every restaurant. So I have solicited a few folks to help with the restaurant reviews. Especially in areas that I have little knowledge.

To apply, you need to be sincere, humorous, and overweight. I would not ever listen to a food critic who is skinny.

One of my epicurean friends ” fester” has been kind enough to offer some insiteful views of the restaurants in Worcester. Specifically the Shrewsbury Street area.

I have been asked to provide reviews for the greater Worcester area. Here goes:
Best Seafood: Sole Proprietor, Highland Street, Worcester
I give it 4 stars. Food is consistently good, sometimes great. It is always packed. Great wine selection, service is good. Personal favorites include the seafood saute, crab rangoons, and sesame lobster. Great desert selection.

Best Italian: Used to be Anthony’s on Shrewsbury Street, until the IRS shut it down. Dino’s on Plantation St was good for a long time, still has the best thick crust pizza, bar service now sucks and the portions are small. Also loses points for a dingy, crappy lounge. I give the nod to Via Italian Table on Shrewsbury St (Owned by the same folks that own the Sole Proprietor and 11 Chop House). Good food, great bar, always packed, meatballs taste like home made. Great newcomer is Chioda’s on upper Franklin Street. Try it!

Best Steak House: Many like the 111 Chop House on Shrewsbury St- I say over rated. Floor layout is open, too loud, takes forever to get a cocktail (a personal pet peeve). Steak is pricey but just average. Good wine selection but I don’t drink wine. Personal favorite is Chuck’s in Auburn, but I know the owner and all the bartenders know what to serve me. Willy’s in Shrewsbury gets the most consistently good feedback that I have heard.

homepage_left.jpg

Chinese: Nancy Chang’s on Chandler St for dine in, Chopsticks on Main St for take out, Yong Shing in Auburn for drinks while -u-wait, Dragon 88 in Boylston for Mai-Tai’s (deadly)- food is all the same and you’re hungry 45 minutes later.

Mexican: Margarita Grill in Auburn (see Chuck’s), Tortilla Sams on Highland St (Late night/early AM)- newcomer is Mezcal on Shrewsbury St. Went there tonight- their menu is 2 pages, with one page being all the Tequila drinks they make. Food was tasty and the 5 Pacificos hit the spot. But at the end of the day, food is all the same and you’re hungry one hour later.

Diners: Worcester is known for its Diners. For actual Dinner, Mac’s Diner on Shrewsbury Street is tops. For late night/early AM, Boulevard and Parkway Diners (Shrewsbury St) are where to be.
Breakfast Diner nod goes to Lou-Roc’s on West Boylston Street.
Carl’s Diner in Oxford gets the prize for volume. Unbelievable! Their advertisement in the newspaper says “Lipitor”- enough said.

Chain- Piccadilly Pub in Auburn is a favorite- small, crowded, but fun. Applebee’s is the absolute worst chain in the world- how do they stay in business?

Grinders- Ted’s Deluxe is a meat lovers delight (bacon makes everything better)- Greenwood St, Worcester.

Monty asked me to do a SHrewsbury St review, But I am getting tired. I will say that the best days for The Wonder Bar have come and gone- service sucks, overpriced, atmosphere sucks. Take-out pizza is the only thing left there.

Flying Rhino is too funky for me- very eclectic.

Tribeca is overpriced, dark, and no fun. Brew City is ok- blah blah blah.

More reviews at a later date.

Fester

” That was an excellent review, I would trust his judgment. Fester is if nothing less, sincere, humorous and he is certainly pleasantly plump. Some would say ” husky”"

Longhorn Steakhouse

A you know, I do not like chain restaurants in general. They seem so contrived and fake. The menus are always filled with everything you can think of, with giant plastic menus.
That pretty much sums up the Longhorn. they have that same old tired southwest look. You know!!!  the wild animal hanging off the wall and the chandeliers made from antlers.
We had to wait for for a table in the middle of the day. That either means that it is really good, or they are under staffed. There were tables open, so I pick the latter.

That greeters were made up of a bunch of young kids dressed in black, that looked disinterested in the customers, and more interested in their own conversations. BUT our waitress JILL more than made up for it, with her fast and friendly service. She was fabulous, and deserved the 33% tip she received.

The food was just fair. The chili cheese fries were soggy. The bread was stale and reheated. I had the ribs, They were advertised as “fall off the bone” that was no lie. they did and they were good. I would go back for those. The fries were over salted and spicy. the cole slaw was very average, it did not taste homemade probably from a 10 gallon container.
The rest of the party had the cheeseburger and the chicken. The chicken was good   ( tender) but the cheeseburger looked better than it was.
We capped it off with the deep fried cheesecake over a bed of ice cream topped with whipped cream. Looked good on the plastic menu, and the team of Harvard marketers who wrote the text made it sound delish, But don’t bother. If you want cheesecake, just order the cheesecake and don’t think that breading it and then deep frying it in oil will improve it.
Overall some good (Jill the waitress and the ribs) Some bad ( fries and the over hyped cheesecake). If I was taking my mother out and two small kids and was on a budget and it was the first place I saw when I got off the highway… I would go back.

Nino’s Restaurant Hingham , Ma

This is a staple of mine, The restaurant is in an old mill building made of all stone on the edge of the quarries. It is right on the Weymouth/ Hingham line. How appropriate, because it has the elegance of Hingham with the big beautiful palladium windows overlooking the water filled quarry, which is drenched in ambient light at night, but, it has the menu more of the style of a Weymouth restaurant. Big portions and reasonably priced.

To me, it’s one of the most consistent restaurants, as far as, quality and price are concerned; and, they fill the wine glass to the brim…none of this big glass, half full shit.

J Trahan (Hanover Ma)

I would suggest starting with the shrimp cocktail ( more like lobster tails) then the steak. Everything looks good, but I tend to go with what I know and like. Onions rings are key as a starter too.

It is busy, so get there early and have a drink or two at the horseshoe style bar.

I give it 3 and one half monty stars

Bella’s restaurant Rockland, Ma

bellas.jpg

I go to Bella’s whenever I can, but mostly on Thursday nights. The epicurean club meets in the bar around 7:30. Our leader Greg usually gets it all going.

Why Bella’s? It is convenient, clean, great waitstaff, reasonably priced and above all good food.

Bella’s has most anything you could want on the menu, not just Italian. I would recommend for starters, the jumbo shrimp, and or the house salad. Save room for the warm bread delivered before you order ( dish of dipping oil on the side). For the main course I suggest the sirloin steak, the rolled and stuffed chicken breast, or the chicken parm eggplant combo. ( enough for this rotund man and a togo too!)

Joanne suggests the Bowtie pasta in the pink cream sauce( Meredith says ” it is to die for”) with the veggies or seafood. Mary prefers to dine smartly on the plain oven grilled pizza.

What really makes Bella’s a treat is the waitstaff. I suggest that you eat in the bar as you come in. ( they have two) Vivian at the bar and LULU and Meridith at your table, you cannot go wrong. Ask Meridith to describe the specials. They are so descriptive, that you think you are tasting them as the words flow mellifluously off her tongue.

make sure to say Hi to Diane at the keno counter. If it were not for Keno, I could own a summer home on the Cape. MY numbers are 2,4,11,16 & 18 Try them for yourself, They have not been that good for me. Oakie likes to play 3 numbers 3-6-8. Good luck!

best spuckie in town

When in the Rockland Weymouth or Norwell area, you need to go to Yianni’s. Billy is the owner and the hardest working guy on the South Shore. Salads are huge, and just about everything else is extra tasty.

So why does this pre geriatriac oversized “guy’s guy” go there? the food is GREAT. Big portions of comfort food. Pot roast, Turkey dinner, Shepards Pie, Mac & Cheese You get the picture. desserts are awesome. try the Bread pudding. everything is good, and the wait staff are real nice. breakfast, lunch or dinner All Good!

not just your average joes

I ate lunch at the Not Just Your Average Joe’s. The food sucked. I had the meatloaf and it was like cardboard. What everybody else had looked terrible. They did not like it either.
One positive was the foccacia bread with the dipping sauce.
