I just got back from a Barbados vacation. Great time, great weather, and a great hotel.

What makes anytime great and anytime fun, is the people you are with and not so much where you are. I could have fun in a phone booth with the right mates ( more on that in a minute).

First off, it is always special spending time with Joanne. There has not been enough of that lately, with work and traveling.

Second, it is awesome to make new friends. I met some great new friends/mates in Barbados. The Greens from Loughborough, and the Alvarez’s from Jersey. Great people and tons of fun. Food , drink and sun.

What I learned in Barbados:

1. how to speak proper English
2. How to sail
3. How to relax

Here is a charity worth your money. There is a 47 year old man in Las Vegas, who ‘s balls are too big. Girls always want to know if that bulge in your jeans is the frank or the beans. Well in this case, it is clearly the beans.

The poor bastard needs a $1,000, 000 operation to get rid of his 100 pound ball sack.

I would usually say that this guy has a lot of balls asking for donations but in this case, I am sending him a few bucks.

OMG!  My buddy and sophomore member of the GGG’s  caught a ball on national TV.

I would have guessed that was a lucky catch.

Here is what could have happened.

1. hit in the head while holding two beers
2. falls over rail while trying to catch the ball
3. hit in the back of the head while going for his 6th leak of the night
4. fall into the lap of the hot chick next to him.
5. stand up and reveal the pee stain on his shorts
6. Bob drops baby to catch ball
7. Bob gets caught by his boss at the game when he was supposed to be working.

Either way. Good job Bob. I am proud of you.

Mullet Bay Golf course is 5 things:

1. In ruins
2. not cheap
3. a shame
4. The only golf course on the island of St martin
5. The very best piece of property in the Caribbean

on the evening of Sept. 4, 1995, Hurricane Luis slammed into the island with 140 mph winds that gusted up to 165. As the storm abated in the early morning hours of Sept. 6, the shell-shocked islanders emerged from their shelters to face utter devastation. Many houses had been demolished, resorts were leveled, some 95 percent of the boats around the island had been sunk or run aground and every scrap of vegetation was stripped away.

The beautiful course at Mullet bay was ruined and remains that way today. legal battles with the country, the owner and the condo owners have never seemed to be settled.

The result is that while the island is bustling, with construction going on everywhere and visitor arrivals at record highs, almost 10 years later Mullet Bay Resort and Casino still lies in ruins.

Except for the golf course. That remains open because of an arrangement with the government that the course would always been kept open. (It is the only golf course on the prosperous island that has a population of 216,500.)

As bad as the golf course is, the locals that run the place are charming and delightful to talk to. Give it a try, but do not expect much. The layout is very nice. Be ready to bring or buy extra balls from the locals, as the course as lots of water on it.

If it is backed up on the 15th hole, strip down to your undies and jump in the perfect water at Mullet bay ( we did ).
